Dorcas Mylene Compaore is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology at Laurentian University,with a minor in Sociology. Native of Burkina Faso (West Africa), she started her journey with P-SEC as a research assistant at Laurentian University, as part of an international work-study position, Fall 2023-Winter 2024. Dorcas is currently working on the following P-SEC project: Métis Identity.

Dorcas is grateful for the experience, support and knowledge she is obtaining through her work with the P-SEC team. As a native francophone, non-Canadian citizen, and member of a visible minority group, Dorcas is even more thankful to learn about marginalised groups and qualitative research, and to be able to work in both languages, French and English. She anticipates benefitting from the research skills and knowledge she is acquiring from her involvement in the P-SEC group, in future projects and employment.
