Valérie Godin 3rd Year BA in Psychology (Major), Gerontology (Minor), and Anthropology (Minor) Student, St. Thomas University, Research Assistant

Publications & Presentations

I am going into my fourth year at St. Thomas University and will be completing my Bachelor of Arts Degree, with honours in psychology and a minor in gerontology and anthropology. I will be completing my honours thesis under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Lafrance. Once I complete my degree, I plan to continue on to graduate studies in counselling, with a specialty in geriatrics.

During the summer of 2019, I began working as a research assistant to Drs. Poulin and Gouliquer in the P-SEC lab, with a specific focus on their collaboration with Dr. Lafrance on her research examining informal caregivers in New Brunswick. However, this opportunity will also allow me to deepen my understanding of the P-SEC methodology and interdisciplinary studies through involvement with the different projects in the lab. I am excited to be helping conduct qualitative research that examines marginalised groups and their experiences through their own lens. With P-SEC, we have the opportunity to give such groups a voice, and hopefully create change to improve their lives.
